Stamford has replaced another member of Mayor Michael Pavia's cabinet.
Pavia announced the appointment of Joseph Capalbo as Stamford's new Director of Legal Affairs Tuesday.
Capalbo has previously run his own law practice in Stamford, where he specialized in areas of land use, real estate and commercial transactions. He has served as a member of the City's 16th Charter Revision Commission, on the Fiscal and Education Committees.
"This appointment represents another significant step by my administration to improve the accountability and transparency of city government," Pavia said in a press release. "Joe has extensive experience in legal affairs. His integrity and commitment to accountability are essential in his role."
Capalbo will replace Michael Larobina, who left the post in January for a full-time position at Sacred Heart University.
Pavia's cabinet consists of four positions: the directors of public safety, operations, legal affairs and administration.
Pavia's cabinet is now three-fourths full after a whirlwind couple of weeks in late November and early December in which former Director of Public Safety Bobby Valentine, former Director of Administration Fred Flynn and Larobina all informed Pavia they would be vacating their posts in January.
Current interim Director of Administration Peter Privitera was appointed in January.
Ted Jankowski replaced Valentine in mid-January.
Ernie Orgera is the City's current Director of Operations.
